Marika Ruschmeyer, LMT, CIMI, CDMI
Marika Ruschmeyer is a Licensed Massage Therapist who specializes in neuromuscular therapy, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, lymphatic drainage and myofascial release. She was raised by a family whose first line of defense to combat everyday maladies or chronic pain was massage; developing in Marika an innate awareness of the body’s capability to heal itself through touch. Following this family tradition, Marika studied classical massage, infant/toddler massage and body success at Axelsons Gymnastiska Institut in Stockholm, Sweden and the Cincinnati School of Medical Massage. She has been practicing in Cincinnati since 2000.
As a massage therapist and an active person Marika is keenly aware of the need for a tissue maintenance program. The higher our activity level and the older we get, the more challenging it becomes to maintain healthy muscle tissue. Stiff, congested muscles are more prone to injury. Soft, released muscles not only perform better but also provide more effective shock absorption, thus protecting your joints.
Marika’s goal is to optimize each of her client's tissues regardless of activity level. Let her help you maintain muscles that respond to your needs and keep you happy! You may reach Marika directly at 513.379.5123 or email@example.com.
Indubala Bhardwaj, MT, ERYT500, T500, Yoga Therapist
A master yoga teacher with over 33 years of teaching experience and a trainer of yoga teachers, Indu has dedicated her life to the profound understanding and practice of Yoga. Concerned by ineffective yoga trends leading to injuries, she has been inspired to distill her learning and experience into an effective therapeutic and training technique called Yoga Dynamix. Yoga Dynamix awakens the axial core, developing posture stability and spinal alignment, while improving appendicular flexibility. Based on centuries of traditional yoga and recent findings of yoga anatomy, Yoga Dynamix can prevent injury and promote safe recovery, not only for yoga-related problems, but for other injuries and diseases.
Indu has an extensive background in classical ballet. While training in New York, at the age of 17, she was introduced to yoga by Swami Satchidananda. After her career in dance, she attended the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy, becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist. At the same time, she began 22 years of private studies in yoga philosophy with Pundit Yogi Raj Sharma Shastri, a scholar and Gold Medalist in Sanskrit from Delhi University. In 1980, Indu moved to Cincinnati with her husband, one of the first Alternate Care physicians in the area. She began teaching yoga and, in 1998 and 2000, opened two of Ohio’s first yoga schools. She designed the first RYS Yoga Training program in Cincinnati, writing three 200-page training books. Indu has studied yoga with Pattabhi Jois, Richard Freeman, Larry Shultz, Eric Shiffman, Srivatsa Ramaswami, Jon Coon, and Paul Grilley, and Sanskrit with Vyaas Houston. She studies fascia alignment with Tom Meyers and Yoga Therapy with Doug Keller and Dr. Ganesh Mohan. Currently she teaches yoga workshops in Ithaca, NY and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and yoga and ballet in Bend, OR for her daughter, Mohini, a 2004 Olympic silver medalist in Gymnastics.
Indu conducts private sessions and 3-4 person classes at the Center for Human Performance and is available for Corporate Yoga classes and workshops. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or 513-300-5586.
